The flare gun is not designed to set people on fire, and in the time it takes to set a roomful of people on fire with a flaregun they could've killed you several dozen times.

I think incendiary grenades need to set people on fire like the flare gun. The after-burn damage isn't too large, but the grenade will do it's job of softening up targets. People on fire are much easier to kill then people who aren't.

No. Overpowers incendiary, which is not underpowered as-is. This change is unnecessary in general. In addition, ignited players use an expensive smoke effect (hardcoded). If incendiaries would cause such an effect to appear for large groups of people, it would result in FPS issues for many players.

BKU, what exactly did you do with all that money you won? If you don't mind me asking. Did you erect a giant gold sculpture of you in your town/city? Buy bodyguards to keep back the hordes of women who are after you?

Mines, health disguiser, stuff like that.

Hid it in a pot at the end of the rainbow. (Not going to talk about finances on the internet)

BKU, I have a nice optimization for you. Lots of servers won't ban without evidence, how about you have an option that records a demo at the beginning of a round, stops at the end, and prompts a user to save? It would allow more people to watch out for RDM and a lot of people who simply don't have the time to keep track of demos could still have evidence that x killed y and z unjustly or whatever.

Job for a server plugin, not a gamemode.

What about invisibility?
Sort of like the spy in TF2:
- You have it only for a short while
- It would be like holstered, except your invisible
- A noise to notify people close that someone is using it
- It has a swap-over time before its ready to use and maybe a charge down time before you can change weapon

That way it wouldn't be over powered, and could be an effective hiding tool.

Just noticed these two errors on my server:

19:17:57 Lua Error: [@gamemodes\terrortown\gamemode\player_ext.lua:240] Tried to use a NULL entity!(Hook: DoPlayerDeath)
19:17:57 Lua Error: [gamemodes\terrortown\gamemode\gamemsg.lua:49] Error: Calling umsg.End without a valid RecipientFilter!?

Running version that was shipped with gmod 111. This seems to happens when a player falls to his death.

I'm having problems with the suit zoom radio commands when used on corpses.  Most of the time I get error messages--though I don't think I do with unidentified ones--and then the message is not displayed.  It wasn't always this way; is this just me?

Thanks for reporting, got a fix lined up to go into the SVN soon.

Happened a second after:

22:33:45 Lua Error: [@gamemodes\terrortown\gamemode\player_ext.lua:240] Tried to use a NULL entity!(Hook: DoPlayerDeath)

Got a suggestion for the C4.
Currently it's based off chance, cut the wrong wire boom!
This is cool but I rarely like chance in multiplayer games.
What if this was replaced by some mini-puzzle? The puzzle would
be different every time and would just make the game a little more fun
and sherlock holmes like. The puzzle wouldn't have to be hard, the danger is in being
vulnerable to traitor attacks while you're playing the puzzle.

For example see the bomb defuse puzzle in Machinarium.

edit: seen some of the previous discussion on minigames. Fair enough. Might still have a go at this for my own server though.

The C4 used to be determined by inputting a code to attempt to defuse it. I forget the reason for it being changed, but it was done mostly so you didn't have to kill the traitor to defuse it.

I clicked on that link, but quickly closed the tab before it loaded upon realizing that the file name was whalecock.jpg.

Newest SVN build should fix the errors reported here (though I couldn't reproduce them all, hopefully they had similar root causes).

jimbodude, if you can't easily run the SVN build, I could put up a .zip version for you to test.

The C4 used to be determined by inputting a code to attempt to defuse it. I forget the reason for it being changed, but it was done mostly so you didn't have to kill the traitor to defuse it.

The primary reason was that you could tell if someone was a traitor by making them put in a wrong code. For innocents getting the code wrong the time would go down, for traitors it wouldn't (because they could exploit that). In other words, it was changed because the minigame was exploitable.

I'll run the latest SVN build on my server tonight, and let you know if everything seems to be fixed.

Thanks.

I just had a weird occurrence on my server.
From start of round until 1st time real damage was done the server console was getting spammed with info about 0 DMG (mostly from one player to another, with the odd random name thrown in, and switched about)

It lasted for around 1 min 12 seconds until 1st time real damage was done (Traitor kill), after that it stopped.
Log file is here if you want to see just how much spam it caused in the server console.
It was the 1st time I had ever seen that happen so no idea if it has ever happened before.

Running SVN v752

Gimme a joint and 3 hours and I can come up with a logical system for karma :D

Is there somewhere I could alert admins of all TTT servers when I catch a ghoster?
