Hi.

The second one isn't a broken feature Darkest, it confirms that the guy killed a person, but until you find their body you won't know they're a traitor. That's how it works with all confirmed bodies. It doesn't show how they died, or any info until the actual body is found.

PS: I also had to ask, is it possible to kill a detective with a knife, when the detective has the armor, and the traitor has the maximum amount of damage reduction from low karma?

I realize thats what it supposed to do, but i just thought it should have their name red.

And the knife does over 1500 damage i think. I know it does at least a thousand. So it should always be an instant kill.

The body armor still says it reduces damage by 20%. The body armor also uses up a credit, which I'm sure it shouldn't.

2 things i noticed.

1. If you put a c4 on something that moves, like an elevator, the indicator wont move with it.
2. If someone id's someone that killed a traitor that was unid'd, thus confirming the traitors death, they dont show up as traitor on the scoreboard.

I'll check these out.

PS: I also had to ask, is it possible to kill a detective with a knife, when the detective has the armor, and the traitor has the maximum amount of damage reduction from low karma?

When I implemented karma I made the knife do over a 1000 damage for that reason, and I think that's still enough. I'll give it a test though.

The body armor still says it reduces damage by 20%. The body armor also uses up a credit, which I'm sure it shouldn't.

The 20% thing is because I uploaded the wrong .zip, it also still shows 02-07-10 as the version and has some debug messages. I'm about to upload a new build.

You should be getting the armor automatically though, you don't have to buy it. Once the new build is up, make sure you're on a 11-07-10 server. Some servers had body armor enabled for detectives before I added that in the update.

I'm going to post in Azuisleets facepunch thread about the Gmod updates and ask if there can be a hook when a player changes their name.
That way you could push the name change until the end of the round.

AzuiSleet isn't working on gmod anymore for unclear reasons, so I expect the updating will slow down. Feel free to ask though, it's good if we can keep the namechanging issue in people's minds.

I'm collecting a few similar things I'd like to disable/change in TTT (like the equip sound when you get a weapon) so I can email garry about them.

Oh he's been playing in the NC TF2 server almost constantly.
That could be the problem...

I'm happy that Detectives are getting a boost with the body armor, but does it tell you that you have it equipped? I haven't been able to tell.

Finally, something that will make me not dread being a bullet-magnet.

You will see that it's listed as owned in your equipment menu (darkened icon etc).

On the DNR server, it was, I only had one credit to begin with. Aren't you intended to have two at start, or was that removed?

Also:

What happens when a C4 kills a seagull. Probably unfixable, but still something funny.

It's been 1 credit for a very long time now, I think since detectives got rewards for getting traitors or something.

Should there be a screenshot in your post? I can't see one.

As far as my previous question, Detectives (at least in the server that I play in) are not able to purchase Body Armor, therefore there is no icon to darken. So, I still don't see where it indicates that I have body armor as DETECTIVE, I know what it does as a traitor. Thanks.

Was the scoreboard rounds remaining thing fixed then broke again?
As I'm sure the last version (not 11/07/2010) showed the correct rounds left info.

I have it set to 10 rounds on my server but it says 6 now.
Sorry if I'm wrong about that, got a major headache due to the players screaming over RDM, so it hard to think :(

Gimme a joint and 3 hours and I can come up with a logical system for karma :D

Do all NPCs get kill messages? I'll check it out anyway.

Then you're not playing on an up-to-date server. In the newest versions it is listed in the equipment menu for detectives, but it's given to them for free immediately.

Everything is still the same. At this point, if it doesn't show the correct number it's likely to be a gmod glitch. The value is updated and re-synced at the end of every round, so I wouldn't expect such a glitch to last more than one round.

You could just Gamemode.ScaleNPCDamage down to 0.

What if a mapper wants to have killable NPCs?

Get off my lawn you rotten kids!
Nah, he's just being 'correct'. It's just JossiRossi's way of dealing with it.

Well then I guess you would just have to hide the kill icon.

It's easy to fix, next version won't have the death notices.

Quick note: next gmod update should fix the crashing people are having when joining servers.

2. If someone id's someone that killed a traitor that was unid'd, thus confirming the traitors death, they dont show up as traitor on the scoreboard.

Just checked this out, and recalled that it's by design: all you get from an indirect confirmation is that he's dead. To know more, you have to find the corpse of that victim. If you do find it, then you will know if he was traitor or not, and the scoreboard will show it.
