Pretty sure Garry gave up on the Top 8 thing, I think he just sent e-mails to the 5 winners. I don't think he just told them that they placed though, because he's sending them their money like now, so they probably know what place they've got.

my game keeps crashing as it loads, (i have all the expansion packs including the apartment life) and i am hearing that it might possibly be a custom content problem? how do i remove custom content?

If you looked at the reviews, TTT was one of the most loved by Garry and his friend, so I don't see why it wouldn't at least place in the top 5.
