You may want to rethink about using sourcebans, as I think gash had a few problems with banning with it - if I'm correct.
I do various mapping and coding for most gamemodes and games, and I'm sure I can give you a hand with any problems.

I did in the past, but that was completely my fault. As of now it's fully working.

Yes, I got it installed but It keeps saying, 'Error Connecting' where it should list my server name. All ports are open and UDP forwarding is enabled. I checked the FAQ as well. Gash, any love?

Just follow the install guide, its pretty easy and theres an FAQ on the forum if you get stuck. You sure your webhost allows it btw? Some dont.

I know they do because I use the same host and plan as Handy man does, and he uses sourcebans off of his host.

I found a debug script but I do not know how to use it.

I don't actually use sourcebans but im sure i could, sourcebans for ECG is hosted off our webbox not related to a hosting company, but i have used various different sql on my plan with hostgator including sql for certain game servers interaction so i would assume it to be similar in that regard.

Well error connecting is a general error... anything else? checked username and password information? checked if server host (game server) offers and information regarding this? if they support this and or allow this and if anything needs to be done on their end?

Made sure that on your cpanel that you are allowing remote sql interaction from your gameserver ip address?

Ummm if you are using hostgator, unless you have VPN or up they will not allow the connection between the game server and sql server.

Pez host the sql of their dedi and use host gator for the web server.

Really? where does that come from? i know its not the exact same thing but i have run SQL for a PERP server on my hostgator webhosting and it works perfectly fine. that requires the same connection of a game server to a webhost sql (from host gator) the only possible constraint is that of his game server company at that point as ECG runs a dedicated box for such servers rather then a TCadmin style setup.

Off topic, I followed the FAQ, it is still giving me an error. Both parties allow the use of SourceBans and all ports are open on my server. I've seen people on the forums of SourceBans have the same problem, then run this debug script and know how to fix the problem. Anyone know how to do such a thing?

Host gator staff would not allow it, this was almost a year ago though, on their lowest hosting package.

Pez has tcadmin on the dedi. Made it easier for people to easily get access to certain features without a lot of tinkering.

Hm ok well this is with the "baby" package and i currently to date for testing purposes can still and do still run the sql required for a PERP server off my webhost with hostgator so happily it would look like they support it just fine.

Also not sure why you would pay for something like TCadmin when you have access to the dedicated box via things such as RDP makes life so much easier as long as you know what you are doing but there is always that trust issue people need to get around which is understandably over the internet something of a problem for most people.

So yeah i have no idea why this is not working short of something not set up correctly, i mean i could confirm if its hostgators problem myself by setting up a sourcebans on my webhost and connecting it to a server.

well on localhost... is it trying to connect to localhost? because thats not where your SQL server is located obviously under host in the config put in the ip address of the webbox literally on the left after you logon Cpanel under dedicated IP address.
