In the latest SVN build I've improved how the constraints are created. There was a problem where it used wrong coordinates for certain things causing arms and legs to act weird and sag. That's fixed now, so pinning those things is now way easier.

The "ropes" also size dynamically, meaning they are longer if the limb you're carrying is further from the point you are attaching it to. This lets you do things like:

Something I didn't get around to yet is an indicator for when you are close enough to a surface to pin the ragdoll to it, which should be helpful.

You should make the ropes into the rope material instead, so it's not like blue and glowy.

If the rope material looks like crap you could also just use the cable material

I've noticed that even though Source engine ropes tend to look kinda crap, the textures EP2 uses are pretty decent looking, much better than the solid black Ep1 ropes.

1200+ hours in Source SDK, and the Source engine is still a mystery.
