Goes in /lua/autorun/server/

This adds two commands: "forumgame" and "pubbiegame".

The server starts in pubbiegame mode, meaning it sets things to the PubbieGameSettings as they're specified in the script. An admin can run the "forumgame" command to switch the settings to be looser (karma off etc). They carry over when the map changes etc. It could include a sv_password as well for example. When people start leaving, an admin can run "pubbiegame" to put the settings back to a stricter config. It should just work with exsto admin status stuff.

If you look at the script, adding more cvars should be straightforward. It wasn't possible to use .cfg files, because Lua isn't allowed to perform the "exec" command. Any setting that is changed in forum/pubbie mode should not be set in the server.cfg 'cause that will override it.

See if it's useful in practice. I could probably make it automatically go into pubbie mode if there are no admins present, but let's see if it works out at all first.


Got around to this, that's really cool. I don't even need my basic knowledge of lua to know how to add more settings, which I did. I added a switch for ttt_ragdoll_collide, 1 for forumites and 0 for pubbies.

I exploded the server.

News at 11: Exsto is too unstable and missing some basic stuff but is really cool. Will check it out in a few months if TTT interest holds that long.

Back to ULX. BKUs addon doesn't work for some reason, investigating that.

In the mean time, play this game every fucking day until you worship me as a provider of life.

Bluevelvet changes:


Increased elevator speed to get between the two levels

Removed the door that we had to cut through as not even the crowbar could open it. Also removed the subway gate and a few other doors as they were just in the way.

Removed all game text as this map has so much of it. I'm going to go through downtown and countrytrain and just delete it all too.

Deleted the win conditions and fadetoblack just in case they can get accidentally triggered somehow.

Success! I turned the zm's info_manipulate into a button for players. Traitor triggerable train....

Country train's objectives best still be intact. Dats gud fun when that is actually done.

Blue velvet would be similarly interesting - It'd keep a reason why everyone would keep moving through the map. Maybe closing the Valves would make the underground start to explode or somethin', so everyone has to get to the surface to avoid death. A reverse The thing.

Of course, that'd take more Hammer work...

Blue velvet is done for now, costing me my entire night. The actual button is ever so slightly off the actual model I put in to trigger the train, but the map isn't ready yet for anyone to try and find where it is. It still needs to be rearmed.

I remember people doing countrytrain objectives even back when game_text was broken in gmod.

Bluevelvet's super explode bonanza worked as well and resulted in some interesting situations.

It's just going to be exactly like it was before. You can still DO everything, there's just no text telling you about it.


Though I deleted the func_win and func_fadetoblack on bluevelvet. Countrytrain and downtown only had their text removed.
