I was basically mulling over some interesting concepts for traitor and detective weapons, and I thought of L4D2's Defib unit. A detective item, Basically a one use, one buy per round item that can bring anything but another detective back to life. The people who are defibbed will experience "Defib Sickness" being unable to talk or type for the rest of the round, so as not to tell people who the people who killed them are ( thus ruining traitors rounds.)
The balances between the risk and use of this are: People who killed a traitor are trusted innocents, thus providing backup for the detective during the last few people, but alas if the detective revives the wrong person, it could mean his end.
So this is my first posted concept, tell me what you think. I'd like some constructive criticism, not just "YOUR IDEA IS SHIT LOLOOOLOLOL."

Well, this would be kinda interesting. My only problem with it is that if a Traitor killed a detective with it, he'd be able to revive another Traitor, or revive the Detective and kill them again to get more credits. That's my only issue with it.

The fact that they can't talk is interesting, it would be better if it only works for a couple of minutes after someone dies to add some realism, and maybe not if they were killed with a headshot.
Also it would encourage traitors to dispose of bodies more so this is quite a clever idea actually.

People would just write out (part of) their killer's name in decals if they couldn't talk.

Or if you really want to test if someone is traitor, you just shoot them and go, Oh, if you're not a traitor, I'll bring you right back!

How about if it kills the detective? Could be used to bring back a player proved innocent who knows his killer.

This would just not work because there are too many ways that this could be abused and the traitors (maybe even all) of the traitors are revealed (because of talking spectators) and this will ruin gameplay but if all exploits such as that could be fixed IE No free roam spectating and being able to see spectator chat & voice etc.
Then this could be very interesting and might consider testing it somewhat.

Depending if the cause of death is recoverable, you could add a death timer that won't add the player to spectators until the timer goes off.

The problem with the person who was defibbed shooting someone is they are still bound by the rules of TTT, meaning people could mistake him/her for RDM. And i doubt anyone will go to the length of writing it out in decals first.

Indeed, i like the headshot idea, certain injuries would be unable to be defibbed from such as fire, headshots, stuff like that.

Would be a one use item, will be a waste on one person.
Hell i'd be happy with a test.
Emphasis on people who didnt read the O.P. first!
1. They cannot talk or type.
2. They Cannot see spec chat once they are brought back to life.
3. Undroppable.

It's a bad idea. The second I was revived I'd start crowbarring a wall to spell out a name. It'd take me like 10 seconds to give enough letters to say exactly who it was.
Also even better, when I was dead and in spec I might hear the names of the other traitors too! So not only would I spell out who killed me, but the other guys as well. So unless they can not talk, can not fire any kind of weapon, then maybe just maybe the concept would not be instantly exploitable, but what would be the point then if they can't do anything?
Get off my lawn you rotten kids!

Again, I would just get up and kill the Traitor that killed me, and any Traitors that I noticed in spectator, if questioned post-round or after I die, I would just answer "I was revived from death, and saw who killed me".

You could make it so it impairs your actions by a percentage IE Attacking only works half or 25% of the time after defib.

If the traitor cant kill someone crowbarring a wall, its safe to say he deserves to be innocent.

Once again, bound by the rules of TTT. You would die as you were shooting someone, which is most likely the option as most people are likely to go WTF whether they are traitors or not. Which in turn will probably get you killed.
and tanner I like your ideas towards this :)

Honestly, this is just a bad idea. It causes a plethora of game breaking problems which can apparently only be remedied by ruining the game further.

The only way this idea is not horribly breaking, is to make the person who is resurrected capable of doing absolutely nothing at all.
It's just not a good idea to implement.
