I believe the best bet atm would be metamod d-fens and the updated DLL from gfscape.

Me too, Luckily, my server didn't get hit, or, couldn't be, i have too much security stuff on there :)

Baconbots dead. He shut it down after Garry got it Vacced. Theres talk of a new one however.

Oh snap really? Finally, that faggot pissed me off so much. Avaster would come onto random servers and shit and threaten to crash servers all the time if he didn't get his way... He ruined the Theatre server where people could put up Youtube Videos on there, and every time a Video came up that he didn't like he'd say "Vote it off or I crash the server." and it usually ended with the server crashing.

I wasn't the Owner, but the Owner didn't want to ban em. He's been banned from servers before and has caused them to Lag (DDOS?) without even being on the server, so...

I doubt a ddos would cause just lag, a simple dos usually does that. If the person knows what they're doing, a ddos can really fuck up (or down? lol) your server.


And no, the only way is to block the IP, but it's usually spoofed.

I say we should make a new thread on the forums that should discuss all forms of server defense. Anti-hackers, Script Enforcers (Lol), DDOS protection ect. It would help a lot of lone server owners n such and maybe someone will learn something new.
