Extremely doubtful. The error described in there could very well be the almighty clientregistry.blob which seems to fix a lot of problems.

Wait... what? If he's talking about server moderators, there's really no reason to gain admin access to a server if you're already admin. If he's talking about forum moderators, there's like 3 or 4 people, most of which already have admin or made the game.

On further inspection, just look at that forum. It's a pathetic wasteland of nobody and almost every single board is about their TTT server. So, no, that guy's just a loser. I think he's just trying to attract members.

Only exitwounds was banned (now a tempban) by sulk for what I understand was posting detailed instructions on how to perform the exploit. I stand behind that because posting such things does not help anyone. Fixes are the thing to post. I don't really want the ZM forums to be what people find when they search on how to do the exploit.

I remimber exit wounds post, it had no mention of fixing anything, it was just "Why attack gmod servers? BECUASE ITS EASY AND FUN! Here let me show you!" and was followed by the step by step walkthrough

I can confirm Bad King Urgrain's suspicions, because the Random (RND) Zombie survival server has been getting hacked too (I have no idea why? Free high lvl weps? i dunno?)
but yes, RND's non-TTT servers are getting hacked too
I'll probably report some of these ID's to the admins just in case

have you guys tried this? It's a quote from the facepunch thread You don't need to shut down your servers to fix this, just turn sv_allowdownload and sv_allowupload to 0 with the new engine binaries from your Garry's Mod folder in steamapps.
Oh and stop being bad server owners and not using a sv_downloadurl, unless you use one your clients will NOT download any files from your server because you disabled it.

Oh and on another note, check your servers for a gm_cmd.dll in the lua/includes/modules folder. IStanI likes to upload it then use it to add user accounts to the server then have fun with your servers. (Pulsareffect.com lol) edit: ok forget it, apparently those vars are handled clientside |
