Solid looking map, sir.

If I recall correctly, you said you had difficulty normal mapping your custom textures?
Here's a quick little test I did with some bones.

No normal map:


With a normal map:


Adds a lot to atmosphere, eh?
If you're interested, I could normal map some textures for you.

I actually already normal mapped the bone textures, it helps a little, but seeing as most of them are in pitch black areas it doesn't add TOO much to them.

I have officially completed the first alpha version of the map. I am now looking for someone to host a small scale test of say 8-12 players.

1200+ hours in Source SDK, and the Source engine is still a mystery.

That's great!
I'm willing to test it, although the server usually has around 20 players on, so it can't really be called small scale... Still willing to test it.

If you'd all be willing to redownload I could include a fix for that, I never realized that was missing because everyone who tested must have had Ep2.

So if you would, then please take down the map and delete the file and redownload it once I finish with it's upload. Then there shouldn't be any errors.

Anyone who has downloaded it, please delete the bsp it and redownload.

+ The map looks very nice and Im sure alot of hard work has gone into it, that much is clear by the attention to detail.

+The map has a very nice feel and atmosphere.

- The map is far far far far too large.

- The map is confusing, it is never clear how to get to where. It took me 4-6 minutes to try and find the innocents (I had radar) who had clustered together (12 people testing)

- The map's lighting can be annoying. Its a nice atmosphere having to use your flashlight everywhere... but its pritty boring.

1. I always get lags on this part of the map : from 90 FPS to 25 with Nvidia GeForce GT 425M and Intel Core i5

2. Lights are sometimes buggy


3. Red ammo ?

4. You see this pistol? It's impossible to take, even with the magneto stick (fake pistol, prop?)

That's very odd, no idea about the lighting and it might not be an issue with the map, but that lag issue is because that one area of the map is a place where much of the map comes together, making it render a lot more. The pistol is bugged for some odd reason, I'll fix it in later versions and the red ammo, no idea, never seen that before.

Red ammo is a new one, all in all its a nice map, as stated large and hard to navigate but thats part of the point for the entire map, although it does make it easier for traitors to win this way around.

The red ammo is an occasional TTT thing, I never thought to mention it. IIRC it picks up as different ammo than it appears to be, or maybe not. I havent seen it happen in a while.

I finally found a key, and then the traitor killed me :(

The map really is amazing, and surprisingly it doesn't lag me at all. Great work.
