In case anyone was wondering what I was making when I was livestreaming my mapping, here it is:

I just started a new map for Trouble In Terrorist Town which is going to take place in the infamous Catacombs of Paris. I am taking this one somewhat slow and only plan to work on it when I feel like it, so don't expect regular updates or whatever. I've only really made one spawn room yet which is a cramped cellar type area providing a limited view of the surface, in this case a narrow alleyway in a residential area of Paris.


In the future I plan to make a very large web of narrow interconnected tunnels and set a very creepy, desolate feel. Many areas will be dark, just as the real catacombs are, and I plan to make "events" which are pretty much traps that traitors will not directly activate but be able to manipulate the odds of it triggering every time an innocent goes within it's area of effect. An example is a weak section of floor that has a 1/32 chance of collapsing every time an innocent walks over it, but with traitor intervention can be made a 1/4 chance. How exactly this will be done I haven't figured out all the way yet, but I want to make it possible for a traitor to sacrifice some of the precious time he'll need to track down the innocents to rig an "event" that may result in a free kill.

I love the traps idea, and thus far it looks great.

It's basically just like keeping your baby teeth when they fall out, except its a foot.

Maybe make it so some floors will collapse if too many people are on at the one time, maybe traitors can shoot pillars or supports to make it collapse and kill people.

Perhaps C4 can trigger some areas to be destroyed, allowing the traitors to split people up, or single out people.

Perhaps a discombob could rig an event by knocking out a support allowing an 'event' to occur, or to increase the chance of it occurring.

Wouldn't a large web of really dark corridors end up as a traitor-heaven (ie. not fun)?

Make some big halls and light the big halls well, so it isnt too traitor sided map.

I don't think there ARE any big halls in the Catacombs.

I clicked on that link, but quickly closed the tab before it loaded upon realizing that the file name was whalecock.jpg.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the catacombs are just endless twists and turns of skull-filled hallways, but Citizen doesn't HAVE to make it like that

I want it to be confusing and hard for innocents. Being a traitor is already fun almost no matter what. So if you make a challenge for the innocents they will actually have something to do other than wait to be killed. I plan on adding tons of stuff to do to keep people moving and to focus mostly on allowing innocents to win through completing an objective or just surviving rather than hunting down all the traitors.

Just add an "escape the catacombs" objective for them to do.

Allright, if they're moving about it's no problem. I was just envisioning everyone clumping together somewhere because venturing into the tunnels would be suicide.

Well did I mention they are all going to start out separated and they have to wander around in the catacombs alone in order to find each other, and if they choose to stick with someone to try and start a group it might be a traitor?
