OKAY.

Detective weapon: The Deathtector

Whats the traitors's goal? Kill innocents. But you must hide the bodies too (using the Flare Gun, or hiding them behind a crate, etc), right? Well, there's some people that just kills someone and leaves. Well, that's over.

The detectives have a Deathtector; this tool only works with unidentified bodies, too. They can track corpses, so it's a poweful traitor enemy!

How does the Deathtector work?

It uses a proximity sensor, which could work in two ways:

- Using a distance meter: showing how far (in meters) is the closest unidentified body (e: 1000 mt, 650 mt, etc).
- Using a "beeper": the faster the beep goes, the closer is the body; the beep must be different though, some people could think it's a C4 beeper.

If this is too overpowered, then it should work horizontally, so if there's a house with 7 floors, you must check the same area in all 7 floors, I don't know if you understand.

Now, the traitor weapon: The Infotracker

So what's the role of the Infotracker (I know the name sucks, you can change it later)? It shows ALL the info of a player: health, slot 1 weapon, slot 2 weapon, etc. It also shows the distance between the user and the tracked one (in meters).

So how does the Infotracker work?

It looks like a gun (maybe a dart gun, something like that). It's a projectile, so if the target moves, you may fail; you must lead the target.

When you shoot it, the "dart" looks like a green projectile. If it hits the target, it will stick to the body for 2-3 seconds, and then dissapear (it goes "inside" the body).

So if someone sees the green thing in another player's body, he will say "You got tracked!"

When you track someone, just press a key (you can bind it to any key) and a small window appears, showing the info I said above:

- Current health (%)

- Distance in meters

- The weapons he is using (slots, doens't works for special weapons [teleporter, health station, visualizer]

- If he's shooting or not.

So why are you going to use this Infotracker? If a innocent is bugging you, just "track" him, and you'll know everything about him. Is this overpowered? Don't think so. It's just a tool that gives information, but really important information.

The "dart" gun only has 4 shots (if you tracked someone, and you shoot another guy, the "track window" will show the new guy).

Here's the limitations:

When someone dies, and you id the body, next to the kill list info, there will be a "Was being tracked" info.

The death body will have a dart on it's chest, the detective can DNA it (DNA never decays, just like the old knife).

So what do you think about this? Please give me your opinions and tell me what could be better on these ideas!

You have alot of ideas, but not always so good. These ideas seem realy overpower, just because you can use this and virtual have no margin of error.

- Detectives definitely don't need a body finder as much as it might seem reasonable. Think about how much information is given off a body... DNA(positive finder of the killer), last seen, and the killers weapon. Detectives need to do their job, and find bodies themselves, this counter acts the detectives job, by making him a lazy class. Which in my opinion it's already almost a lazy class, with the feeling of being paranoid since you trust nobody. All you need to do it run around with the radar, and call out when people are missing while finding bodies for DNA.

- Your second item seems like WAY more of a detective item than a traitor item. Nuff' said.

Just grab some bottles and stick them in girls...

Okay, so let's say the Deathtector isn't going to be added.

But, just like you said, the Infotracker should be a detective item. Traitors have more items than the detectives.

So let's change some stuff on the Infotracker:

The "dart" is blue, and doesn't sticks to the body, it "penetrates" it instantly, so you can track someone stealthly.

The tracker will show the same info.

But the tracker is going to have a timer: it is going to last 2-3 minutes till it fades. (Maybe 2-3 minutes is too much, IDK).

So what do you think about the Infotracker, BKU? (The Deathtector is out, even if it had an awesome name ^^)

Don't like it. Showing a detective information about what a player is doing, or even his health levels, makes it trivial to determine if it's a traitor. Why would an innocent be shooting? Why would an innocent be losing health without screaming in the chat?

More fundamentally: why does the Detective need this information? Is he underpowered? Is there some range of cool gameplay that is not happening right now, because the Detective doesn't have this equipment? How is this going to make the game better? Adding equipment for the sake of adding equipment is not a good enough reason, it needs a good answer to some of those questions.

I know what you're talking about. I think it's a traitor tool, not a detective one. meta said it would be better if it was made for the detectives, but no, it would be overpowered.

so it would be way better if it was designated for the traitors... right¿?

Well i think its overpowered for traitor as well, because even they need uncertainty whether to kill that person or not. With this... it just gives away to much information.

The latter idea might be balanced if it was for detectives, had one shot, and revealed only the position of the player, but then it would have to be adjusted such that the DNA scanner would not be superior.  Perhaps have it constantly track a player's location (much like the traitor HUD does for fellow traitors)?
