The current C4 sound is out of my range of hearing. It's too high frequency for me to hear, I think due to hearing loss at some point in my life.
Thus, whenever there is C4, I can be standing right next to it and not hear it. I've died many times due to this, and it's caused me much frustration.
I don't suppose there's any way for me to modify the C4 Sound to be something with a lower frequency, without it being cheating?
Probably not, huh? I'm SOL I assume? :(

Replace the CSS C4 sound with something you can hear.
I'm sure someone can tell you how or a quick google will.

The sound is "garrysmod/sound/weapons/c4/c4_beep1.wav". You can place a different sound file at that location and filename, and the game should play that instead.
To get the original beep down in frequency, you'd have to use GCFScape to extract the .wav from the CS:S .gcf, and then edit it with a sound editor until you can hear it.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I wasn't sure if it was allowed or it would be considered cheating by VAC or whatever.
EDIT: It works! YAY!

the best part about that "muchlove" image, is that it's a Green Bunny.

This may or may not explain why I can never seem to hear it. Hm.

I'm going to go replace it with "buttplug".

If you need sounds, I may happen to have an abandoned HLDJ project with sounds already in the proper .wav format with appropriate cropping and an extra sound for when the bomb goes off.

It works with sv_pure 1 ?

I don't know. I think sv_pure 1 is meant to prevent this kind of thing. I have no idea if that's true and if it even works in gmod, because I've never tried.
