This is not a bug nor using some kind of hack. Its more rather using clever game mechanics to disarm a C4. A few people have been asking me how I disarm C4s when they use some complicated code. Well, here is how I do it.

Im going to use the code 713 for this example. You find a C4 on the ground that is armed and you want to disarm it but cant guess every single code. Some of you know that if you type in "432" and the code was "439" then at the bottom of the C4 HUD it would show [4][3][ ] meaning that the code has the numbers 43 in the beginning. We can take advantage of this by doing the following.

Code: 713.
Put in 111. Attempt Disarm. Nothing happens, but we now have [ ][1][ ].
Put in 222. Attempt Disarm. Nothing happens.
Put in 333. Attempt Disarm. Nothing happens, but we now have [ ][1][3].
We will continue to put in "###" all the way up to 9 until we have all 3 numbers.
Eventually we put in 777. Attempt Disarm. Nothing happens but we now see the code [7][1][3]. That's the code! Quickly put in 713 and attempt disarm before you become barbecue.

Im pretty sure the TTT Veterans knew about this but I've had a few people ask me how I disarm C4's so I'm sharing my tricks with them. Also I found this out by myself. I didn't steal this from anyone but I am sorry if anyone did post this before me. -Xbye

This makes disarming far too easy. I like the more mastermind approach where it just tells you how many numbers are correct and how many are in the correct position.

The point IS to make the disarming quick an easy. I didn't mention anywhere in the post that this wasn't a cheap way to disarm C4.

I think this should be removed because it really is FAR to easy to disarm the c4.

I want to know who was the first person to rub barrels, must of been an epic moment like discovering fire or your sisters vibrator.

I do however feel the timer should be dropped to 45 seconds.

This technique is where I based my diffusing technique from. The difference is that mine is altered slightly to have a higher hit chance based on what people usually input. I don't think a new system is absolutely necessary though, because brute force only works reliably if there's over 30 seconds left. It still captures the tense and exciting feeling of disarming while not over-complicating the matter.

The timer's usually pretty low, there's usually someone lurking around ready to kill you, and you don't run into c4 very often. If the diffusal method is too skill-dependent, new players will take a long time to figure it out and expert players will take down anything in their path. This is a miniature game within a game for a mod of a game, it needs to be straight forward.

That said, I still think that this mechanic has a ton of potential. Without identifying a specific solution, here's what I think would make a great mechanic:
- The system requires steady work and time.
- Time spent is affected by skill. However, even the best players will only be able to diffuse so fast (like today's system). The perfect solving player should never get it surefire in any less than 20 seconds.
- More arming customization from the traitor.
- If someone's been diffusing and is almost out of time, one should be able to make a final guess (kind of like red wire or blue wire).
- Guesses should be proportional to their progress. Incorrect guesses have penalties. Zero progress means low (not zero) guess chance.

- What would be great would be the ability to control the effectiveness of damage/radius, timer, beep noise, and defusal difficulty. In exchange for making the bomb worse on one fashion, you could make it better in another. For instance, decrease beep noise but have an easier encoding. Make a bigger blast, increase beep noise. Make a short timer with a smaller blast and easier code. Make a huge blast with a very hard code, but a very long timer and loud beep. Or a huge blast with a dirt easy code and very long timer that's extremely hard to hear.

It isn't the easy to disarm c4 at all. Everytime you get it wrong the time goes down by 2 seconds or so... And you probably didn't find it as soon as it was planted. You do NOT have a lot of chances or time.

I was forced to improvise this exact strategy when I got onto the boat on enclave and found I was the only innocent aboard and there was C4 on it. It was effective in defusing, though the code was 777 :\

But then I got to taunt the traitors who were back on the island.
