Damn, there wasn't a good thread for equipment/weapon ideas... So I made this. I'll start.
Detective weapon: The Shooter Detector!
Detectives have designed a new gadget for themselves. The "Shooter Detector" monitors the heart rate of the player the detective is looking at. If the person have been shooting recently, the "Shooter Detector" will reveal it.
This passive item helps detectives to find out who have used their guns recently. If you aim at players you can see a "gun" above them. It can different colours (levels), depending how many times the player have shot recently. The "Shooter Detector" cannot find out if the traitor have used melee or any traitor weapons.
4. RED:
Player have shot 10 --> times.
3. ORANGE:
Player have shot 6-10 times.
2. YELLOW:
Player have shot 2-5 times.
1. GREEN:
Player have shot 0-1 times.
(Numbers can be adjusted to different weapons)
It takes 20-40 seconds to make your shooting decay . Throwing away the weapon DOESN'T help.
So, how this helps detectives?
-Well, if you have heard shooting recently and someone have died, you can use the "Shooter Detector" to help find out who was the shooter.
OMG IT IS OP!
-No, if the traitor was good he one-shotted the victim OR went hiding.

This wont work good since I see many many people randomly shooting all the time at props and shit. Also did you really manage to make a lua that can do this????

That's really not a good reason to think it won't work good. Personally I think an item like this isn't needed, the detective with his scanner, and radar seems to do the job very well. So I'd have to go against it based on the fact the detective definitely doesn't need another thing to find traitors with. Besides it's just an assumption device, there's no solid proof the guy you see was the shooter. You should be running towards gun shots anyways, not waiting until they're over, then looking at every player in the game to figure out who it was. I usually find out who was shooting, by listening to the type of gun heard, and referencing my memory as to whom I have seen with the gun.
