Other / Trouble in Terrorist Town / Re: Adding Grenades

How would i go about making it like a normal grenade, and not use ammo of any sort? Or do they use some sort of ammo that i don't know about. Do the default ttt weapons have shared.lua files i can learn from? I couldn't see any (For the ones i looked at anyway). I basically just want it like a normal nade, that goes away from inventory once thrown.
If the above 2 questions go un-answered i'll go ahead and post the code for you to look at. If the default ttt grenades had shared.lua files i could learn easily, though.

Other / Trouble in Terrorist Town / Adding Grenades

I've had no problems with adding guns at all to TTT, but Grenades are being a bitch to add. No matter what type of nade i add, i get
ERROR Translation of ammo grenade not found
I also noticed i can't throw any custom nades, I've tried a few and they normally return that same error. I'm also talking about normal HE grenades, not smokes or flash bangs. I know nothing about lua, at all, but i assume it has to do with this? They simple make the click noise (No ammo sound) and give me the above error error.
This the ammo type thingo i had added SWEP.Primary.Ammo = "item_ammo_grenade"
That's probably completely wrong, and i think by the looks of it that's the problem? I'm completely hopeless at LUA, so don't laugh :P

Other / Trouble in Terrorist Town / Traitor and Detective doors
|

I'm working on a door that's only accessible to Traitors and Detectives. So far it uses a button, that when pressed activates ChecksForTraitor which is a nodraw box around near the button. On TraitorsFound the door opens. How would i made it work for Detectives only as well, and not Innocents? I've had a look and can't see anything for Detectives.
Thanks.

Just started a new map. The map is of course based in Aperture Laboratories before Portal 1 takes place. I'm still after ideas although i'm still working on capturing the Portal feel, without ripping the Portal textures. Please post any ideas you might have. ScreenshotsPlease note I've just started it. This screenshot is to show what the map will generally look like. Yes, it's in CSS. I test my maps in CSS before arming them and completing them. Feedback would be great. Thanks

Hardly.
Anyways, are you not concerned about players simply memorizing the map? I'm just going to slide this idea in here: moving walls.
It's not currently big enough to really get lost in anyway. Moving walls sounds good, I'll give it a shot and see what i can come up with.

Yep, i did add playerclip zones on the fences. During testing on the server, no one was able to escape the walls and enter places they shouldn't.
Speaking of discobombs, i completely forgot to add any grenades what so ever in the map when i was adding the weapons (I know, stupid) but people can re-arm the map them self if they want grenades, although I'll add them next update.

This is a new TTT map i recently made for the Gaming Community i run. I liked how Borders was played, and noticed that Borders is a popular TTT map. I tried to keep the same sort of feel in this map, in the way that there is a lot of places to run and hide and you can easily run and escape. Although this map was inspired by Borders, it was made from scratch. The map also contains a small Jail cell, which is a first for TTT maps, for Detectives to detain any suspicious Terrorists, although i doubt anyone will agree to be put in Jail. The map was made for VersonoGaming TTT server, but of course anyone can use it on the server they run. Change Log- Increased playerclip around some fences. No one has escaped the map yet on our server, but did it to be sure. - Added the Traitor body bin. Only Traitors can open it, they can hide bodies inside it. The bin can be watched by Detectives in a room, there is CCTV covering the Bin. - Added a few more weapon spawns. ScreenshotsDownloadhttp://www.mediafire.com/?nuvoos2jnastk19I haven't tested this version on the server i help run, although I've checked it myself for bugs. Please report any bugs you may find here. Thanks.

Other / Trouble in Terrorist Town / TTT Map Ideas
|
on: October 05, 2010, 04:39:35 AM
|
I was thinking of starting another TTT map (I have one in development) but I'm after ideas, unique, fun, good ideas. By that i mean ideas for a setting, traps and other ideas. I've done maps for CSS Jailbreak in the past, and most have been pretty popular on our Jailbreak server (before we closed it down).
Post away.
