The generic reason for death (and skull icon) on the corpse should be a pretty big clue that the person wasn't actually killed by normal means.
People used to do this more when the last words were broadcast as a chat message, but it's easy to tell that the dead guy killed himself either by falling or standing in someone's/his own incendiary or whatnot. It's no more of a problem now than it was then.

That would make things just as bad as before when people could pretend to be AFK but actually type out the name of the person who kills them so as to immediately broadcast the traitor's identity with their last words, albeit with a bit more delay. Yeah, last words don't necessarily have to be truthful, but it was an irritating and overused tactic nonetheless. I think it's best for most of the information on a dead body to remain solely with the dead body. That way, if someone else tries to relay to you the last words from a corpse you can't see, you either have to trust them or go and check for yourself. That's part of the brilliant mind games behind TTT.

The idea for the lack of Detective-only voice chat was to prevent Detectives from acting as their own little team entirely independent of the Innocents. BKU said it thusly: Detective chat will result in detectives only chatting to each other about anything they find, leaving the innocent out of the process and making it more boring for those players. I believe the text chat was just a minor compromise that's intended to have the aforementioned weakness of leaving the Detective vulnerable.

Here, Citizen, let me save you the trouble and do a run down of everyone's current status: [li]Unholy Knight - Dead[/li] [li]killer cortez - Dead[/li] [li]Zane - Legend[/li] [li]alpha.omega - Dead[/li] [li]Ajunk - Active[/li] [li]Barbalute - Active[/li] [li]AndyTheGeeky - Active, but consider killing off anyway[/li] [li]JossiRossi - Active[/li] [li]Pi - Active[/li] [li]theGreenBunny - Reincarnated[/li] [li]Angry Lawyer - The Divine Being[/li] [li]Ficcy - Transcended[/li] [li]Pestoolio - MIA[/li] [li]Holy Toaster - Kind of dead[/li] [li]Werewolf - Less dead[/li] [li]Shambie - Dying[/li] [li]SoulOfDoom - One foot in the grave[/li] [li]sulkdodds - British[/li] [li]Waffles - Dead (to me)[/li] [li]Uk-known - Lost Viking[/li] [li]Andy p - Andy p[/li] [li]worbat - Good as dead[/li] [li]Joest - Should be dead[/li]
I hope you'll use this information wisely in reevaluating the names that appear in your map. Frankly, I think the correct path to take is clear:
Replace them all with Rotinaj
.

See for yourself... It's a sign that says "DEAF JAM RECORDS" with a clip art picture of an ear. I replaced Zane's sign How come? Zane is way more memorable than a lot of these people. Unholy Knight (aka "who?") and Killer Cortez (aka "who?") have been dead for ages. Why should Zane's legacy be forgotten yet people can still run around in your map wondering, "who the hell is Omega?"

Then what's the point of the anonymous detective? It seems as if your original purpose was to make detectives more fun in your eyes, but your intent is immediately countered by this new fanfic class of yours. So it only takes a second for the anonymous detective to no longer be anonymous thanks to the class whose sole knowledge is to instantly know this person's identity. Great idea!

THE DOUBLE AGENT!
*knows who the anonymous detective is *can talk into traitor chat but cannot hear it (he does not know who the traitors are, but he can help them)
That immediately defeats the purpose of the "anonymous" detective. If the double agent can instantly pinpoint who this individual is and has means of covertly communicating with the traitors, then how is this any better than the situation you're complaining about? The anonymous detective is just going to be ratted out first thing and then be no better off than the plain and identified detectives. If anything, he's is at a greater disadvantage since regular innocents can't trust him.
