If this is really your first map, which I still find hard to believe, then remember a few things:
- Props can only be hit by a certain amount (3-5) of dynamic lights (on/off lights) before getting the "too many light sources" error and turning completely black. Since you mentioned working light switches, I just thought I'd point that out.
- There's an entity limit. From the looks of you map, you might just hit it.
- Try to avoid sharp shadows, like in screenshots 1, 2, and 9.
- Read up on optimization if you haven't already. This is a beautiful map, I'd hate to see it screwed over by lack of optimization. It's not something you do after the map is done, it's something you base the map around. Use lots of area portals, hints, and the like along with making sure there's no one line-of-sight where you can see tons and tons of stuff. Remember that entities don't block line of sight, but at the same time you should be making all brushes which don't block line of sight (i.e. decorative brushes like beams) func_brush.

This is you first map and let me tell you, it looks awesome! Infact, it looks better than my map! And I have used the hammer editor for 2 and a half years!

I set all the light accordingly and used light blocker to make sure every light has its own faces, don't worry.

On the other hand, some of the rooms seem to be lighted with a single lamp, eg:

Now I'm not a mapper, but I think in reality it's more common to have multiple lamps instead of one super bright one. It seems like you'd get more interesting lighting/shadows that way as well.

I suggest you use either an earlier time or instead use dusk because right now the lighting from the artificial lights don't support the light_env's colour.

I learned by doing, i started with these rooms, that's why they look a bit ... different.
