That's actually a pretty nice policy, although I personally wouldn't unban them just for posting an appeal.  Maybe if they had a good explanation or something.

They are only automatically unbanned just for making an appeal if it was a non source game (such as MW2) as thats where allot of kids hacked and got vac banned for doing things like accessing console etc.
