I just started my clan back up and we are getting into TTT. Well, I hosted a server back in Feb of 2010 so I figured I'd give it a go.

Now, I'm no noob when it comes to hosting nor a highly experienced coder like BKU or Garry. Below is a snippet of error that is repeated a billion times until I leave the server. In addition, there is no scoreboard or HUD showing up, however, ULX and all the files are loading.

Quote
GamemodeError(Think): No Gamemode!
GamemodeError(Tick): No Gamemode!
GamemodeError(DrawMonitors): No Gamemode!
GamemodeError(RenderScreenspaceEffects): No Gamemode!

On the upper, right hand side is also displayed:
Quote
Lua cache could not be downloaded. Server is misconfigured.

Any help is appreciated, and yes I did try to fix this. :P

It means all client-side files failed to download to the clients correctly, are you using fastdl? If so then check your fastdl settings and configuration.

Your server creates a datapack when its turned on, that datapack needs sending to clients, if you have a FastDL, youll need to update the datapack on there each time you edit a client side file on the server.

So only the datapack needs to be added to my Fast DL.

Where is this file stored anyway?

Its good practice to have an exact replica of your server files on your fast download (minus certain things like cfg for possible security reasons) Basically the file they speak of is something called a cache file that i located in the cache folder.

\orangebox\garrysmod\cache folder will contain the small dua file its small in size so no compression required (about 200kb)

Then you just need to place that file in the fast download which should have a structure more like this:  /public_html/TTT/garrysmod/cache

just an example of things you should typically have in the fast download in terms of folders etc are:

Addons
Cache
Maps
models
materials
sound

but really it depends on the game mode and the content you have in the game mode so for example a vanilla TTT will not have custom materials, other game modes need more files and folders such as lua folders etc again completely dependent upon the game mode and the content you run within those gamemodes.
