So our community got a TTT server up recently, and keeping everything under control is quite difficult.
I'm sure there are a bunch of other server admins floating around here, and I was hoping they could share how they keep everything running smoothly on their servers. Are there specific rules, plugins, maps, that you have or avoid? And how do you know when to punish someone and in what way?
I would appreciated any useful tips I could pass along to the rest of our admins.

Well my server runs ULX and generally we always debrief the person who committed the crime and the people who were involved or have evidence. We then wait till the end of the round to pass our punishment. This goes for all sorts of things like RDM'ing, metagaming and so on.

How do you find out if a teamkill was RDM or just an accident or mistake? You can't be watching everyone at every second, and nobody wants to play trouble in spectator town.

Just ask what happened, and dont be mean about it when you are.
And damage logs. Type ttt_print_damagelog in console in post or pre round. This way you can see if someone is bullshitting.

Damage logs only show hits that connect.
Many players I have seen have a tendency to shoot at random, which often gets them killed, keep an eye on that. Griefers have many ways to get people to kill themselves or each other, without any of it being recorded.

Be strict but be fair the balance of the two will make the servers easy to manage, with that i manage to keep a full 24 man server under relative control alone so with a couple of admins should not be hard just remember that you are not only paying attention to the people with the microphones but the people in chat also.
