I have assembled a test map to troubleshoot the following entities:

1. - game_text - "Displays a customized message on a users screen"

2. - env_message - "Displays a message on a users screen as long as the user is within
                              the entities defined area"

I have concluded that neither of these entities are functional within Garry's mod, regardless of the game mode chosen.

Therefore, I was wondering if it would be somehow possible to have these two entities work within Trouble in Terrorist Town.

I would greatly appreciate it if perhaps a new .fgd could be released allowing the use of these two entities. They are extremely useful for objective-based maps and/or announcements displayed to the server.

I have additionally uploaded the test map for trouble shooting purposes.

I cannot magically make these entities work, they are broken in gmod's code. Garry is currently working on an engine update for the game that will bring it to the newest version of Source, and as a result these entities may well work again after that update is released.

Maybe I'll whip up a quick entity that lets mappers send text to the top right message area.
