So I'm currently trying to rearm a Half Life 2: Deathmatch map and wanted to redo the spawns as I'm not sure of exactly how many spawn points there are by default but I'm having some issues. It seems as if whenever I try to place a player spawn (with and without replace existing spawns enabled) my GMod crashes. In the past I've tried changing the spawns for a TTT map and had the same issue though I was able to place spawns in a few areas for whatever reason.

Any help would be appreciated.

It happens on some maps, not clear why. Usually there's some areas of the map where you can place them without crashing, so it's possible to create them there and move them with the physgun to the right place.

Yeah, on borders it seems as if I can place them in the underground area/main building but if they're placed in most other areas it seems to crash. I'll try moving them around with the physgun, thanks.

I have another question if you don't mind answering. I'm currently trying to rearm a TTT map but can't figure out how to remove random weapon spawns. They appear all over the map as ERROR boxes (in sandbox) and the remover tool doesn't do anything. The "remove all existing weapon/ammo" button also doesn't seem to work. I know in that in the past I was able to see a HL2 shotgun model (which I could remove) inside of the ERROR boxes wherever random weapons were but for some reason they aren't showing up now. I've also tried importing an empty rearm script but it seems as if they can only add weapons, not remove them.

edit: Nevermind, figured out how to remove them (ent_remove_all ttt_random_weapon).
