I've done some stuff that should help with this, for next version. The list of spawn entities is now re-shuffled every time a player spawns, so it's about as random as it's going to get. There is still no guarantee you'll spawn in a different room in your map, but I don't think there's anything that can guarantee that seeing as every room has multiple spawnpoints in it.


True, but if it IS randomized, you most likely won't spawn with the same 4 players in the same room every time. Thank you very much BKU!

There are 20 spawn points in a 16 player server, 4 different rooms, 5 spawns in each room. People still keep spawning with the same people in the same place every round, until someone leaves or joins. Then the spawnpoints are slightly altered

This is on the latest version of TTT. I've used info_player_start only on one map, and info_player_deathmatch only on another map.

An "issue" I've experienced is that whenever I make a map, people ALWAYS spawn in the exact same place every round, unless a player leaves or enters, then the spawnpoints are slightly altered, only to return to spawning people in the same spot after. This causes issues for my map since the specific spawnpoints destroys the point of the level.

Is this a "flaw" with the gamemode/garrys mod or am I doing something wrong? And either way -is there any way to override it?

Sounds like a good idea, but it might have some serious consequences. Considering that the game is pretty much about innocent killing innocents due to paranoia and misguided suspicons, this change will make it harder for the traitors to turn innocents against innocents since people would be more reluctant against shooting eachother.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea and it would help against people who are so incredibly cavalier about shooting other people, I'm just saying it might have some consequences like I mentioned.

This is no longer my map project, it's been passed onto Jawn Mancer since I've started working on a new map called ttt_vijotrenije (renamed ttt_LifeForce).

Doesn't really matter. There's more to a map than "Looking good". When I tried out the map on a TTT server, I got some really nice comments like "This is my new fav map!" "omg, this is awesome" "epic" and so on, which is what I'm aiming for rather than just making a map that looks good but has little to offer.

But thank you though, because I see your point. Yes I'm lazy, but I'm also not a professional mapper, and it's not exactly my passion to do this, so I'll just aim for "good gameplay" rather than trying to make a name for myself as a mapper.

Oh yeah, of course. The map has plenty of combine materials. I'm going for a as-basic-as-possible map and only using HL2 materials. And I wanted some military-styled materials to the map, but instead I went with the "Combine Occupation"-theme.

I've been over it in my head for over a week now.. What the hell to make? Everything has already been made in one way or another.. So I decided to make the White House!

Granted it doesn't look exactly like the white house, or anywhere near that.. But the general layout is about the same. I've also extended my version of the White house with a Prison Cellar and a Secret Underground base.

So yeah, I let my mind run rampart and just went with the outcome.

I'm Currently working on the Underground base aswell as details and lighting.

I'm a tad rusty on the map making front right now, since last I made maps I made them for Zombie Master, like.. 2 years ago or soming, hehe. But I'm slowly regaining my knowledge.
