I like vanilla servers because I know what to expect. If I join a custom I have to learn the new guns or everything is overpowered and stupid (ie sucide bomb). Vanilla servers I already know everything is balanced and how to use everything. And like that guy said there's more mature players in vanilla, rather then a lot of kids looking for gimmick weapons or server owners making donators over powered. Also often times custom server have very high max player counts which makes everything a clusterfuck.

Well, NOW he has, yes. Now that I have requested that he actually post something informative instead of just "Yeah, we're cool, so join us! Well, I meant there was enough information for me as soon as I read "custom sweps" in the original post. That's just because I'm a hipster and try to play on only completely vanilla servers, but like I said that's all the information I needed to know.

I love how all of you are trying so hard to find blob's screw ups, but honestly no one cares if he's in the top 10 gmod servers or top 10 TTT servers. I think he posted all the info I needed.
Edit: Oh hey 600th post.

Im just trying to say I think he has the wrong attitude about it, plus, more TTT servers = more competition ;)
The more servers the better. Besides owning a server is a hell of a lot more fun then being a part of an already existing community.

Yeah, I'm planning on doing more Goldsource map ports and just using this thread to list them all. Although I haven't started porting much yet, due to laziness and school. The maps I'm planning to do so far are cs_estate and dod_kalt. I've had the Axis team from DoD ported for a while now. I'm hoping to port a variety of popular Goldsource maps but I don't want to do every single Goldsource map because I'm sure people would get sick of it quick and I don't want to do that much work. I also started working on ttt_bank some more just making it look a little nicer but didn't get very far. I think I'll port another map just for fun. Here's the ported Axis models I'm planning on having in future DoD ports. (The finger rigging is actually screwed up in this picture as well as some shading issues. That has been fixed now) I'm open to requests if someone wants a classic ported. I kept thinking it would be funny to have a Ricochet map but that would most definitely not work for obvious reasons. So let me know if you have a good idea for a map to be ported, just as long as it's not something like killbox.

Make sure it has 42 spawn points for my server otherwise we can't use it :(
You do know there is a tool that lets you add spawn points right? Also holy fucking monkey balls forty two fucking player slots?!!?! Why would you ever want or need that many players in TTT?

When I try to add the TTT .fdg to Hammer, it freezes. Also when I try to open the ttt vmf exampel files it freezes too. any ideaS?
Have you tried adding it to an existing FDG? When I map I just add it to my CSS configuration for more models and such. As for Hammer freezing when the VMF loads I don't have any idea why it would do that.

ttt_map_settings has an input that sets the playermodel path. You could set something up like: ttt_map_settings fires MapSettingsSpawned -> PickRandom on a logic_case, which picks a random output and fires OnCase* -> SetPlayerModels input on the ttt_map_settings with a model path as parameter.
Seems like it would work. Setting "developer 2" in the console will make TTT entities print some debug information starting with "[TTT dev]" in the console. It should be useful for figuring out if this works properly.
Thanks I'll try that out.

Sorry I kinda let this die for a while. Was really busy with real life things. I'll release the map soon all I only have to fix a few textures and it should be good to go. Here is a screenshot of the player models by the way. Also can a mapper tell me how to make it so the game randomly picks which custom model to use. Or if it's even possible to do that. Oh and ignore the Leet's knees they aren't like that now. Edit: I'm going to release soon. However I don't know how to make it so the ttt_map_settings picks multiple custom models so this version will only have the Terror model.
